Robert Turner
I was born in Atlanta Georgia and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I moved to Hickory in 2005 with my wonderful wife Lorraine and my four children, Tyler, Maigan, Chelsea and Jordan. I have three dogs, a Bailey Cookie and Izzie.
I love teaching, coaching, reading, fishing and martial arts. I served in the United States Army as a logistics NCO. My last active duty station was HQ&Alpha 82nd FSB, FT. Bragg, NC.
I received the Hickory City Schools Teacher of the Year award in 2004 and the Northwest Regional Teacher of the year award in 2005. I served on the North Carolina Teacher Advisory Council for 2 years.
I earned my Bachelors degree from Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and my masters degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida in Tampa Florida.
It is my firm belief that every child can learn. My goal is to educate the whole child, regardless of learning ability. I look forward to each new year with eager anticipation!
